Tapestry Chamber Choir

Tapestry is an exciting Cotswolds based chamber choir with a repertoire that spans centuries and styles. Although a relatively new choir, we are gaining a reputation for quality singing with a flexible approach to fit into the needs of various situations. We take music seriously without taking ourselves too seriously.

Weekly term time rehearsals

We rehearse in Ashchurch Village Hall on Saturday mornings.

Contact us – we’d love to hear from you.

What to expect

We’re a friendly community of singers who all share a passion and enthusiasm for singing songs in a wide range of styles and in quirky settings.

Whether you’ve been singing for years, or are an instrumentalist with little choral experience, we will make sure that you are comfortable with what we are doing.

Choral Scholarships

We are pleased to be able to offer two young adults the opportunity to be awarded scholarships to enable them as part of a growing chamber choir.

Please feel free to get in contact for more information.

Recording projects

Throughout the lockdowns, we rehearsed on Zoom. Although not the same as singing ‘face-to-face’, online rehearsals allowed us to take advantage of the lockdown by including temporary members from other choirs (unrestricted by geography). We also played with tech – resulting in our virtual recording projects:
Bethlehem Down, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Autumn Leaves, Beati Quorum Via, and You are the New Day – sung by the Tapestry Chamber Choir, direction by Sandra Burne, audiovisuals by Mark Harmer.

Recorded safely miles apart from each other!

Autumn Leaves
An autumnal lockdown project: Autumn Leaves – music by Joseph Kosma, arranged Andrew Carter. Lyrics by Jaques Prevert and Johnny Mercer. A seasonal Lockdown project. The voice and video recordings were made by the choir and mixed by Mark Harmer, who also produced the video.
Bethlehem Down
Bethlehem Down
This recording was a commission by The Benefice of the Guitings, Cutsdean, Farmcote, Upper and Lower Slaughter with Eyford and Naunton
and features churches from the area.
You are the New Day, David
Words and Music by John David arranged by Peter Knight and sung by the Tapestry Chamber Choir. This is our first lockdown project.
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Beati Quorum Via, Stanford

Beati Quorum Via, Op. 38, No. 3, Stanford. This is our second lockdown project.
